If beer is your fancy, you don’t have to look far! Wilmington alone has over 15 breweries. Whether you whet your whistle with an Indian Pale Ale, a Kolsch or a Porter, you have plenty of unique options to select from. A couple of our favorites in New Hanover County include Wrightsville Beach, Front Street Brewery, Flying Machine Brewing Company and Hi-Wire Brewing. Brunswick County has it’s fair share of breweries as well. Makai Brewing Company is located in Ocean Isle Beach, and Red Hare Brewery is located in Shallotte.More are on their way, with Solar Brewing Co. opening soon in Oak Island, and Brunswick Beer and Cidery under construction in Leland, right within the master-planned community of Brunswick Forest.Stop by one of our local breweries to grab a cold pint of craft beer. Many of these locations often offer food trucks, have their own restaurants, and frequently schedule live music.
For those with a taste for wine, you have plenty of options as well! What’s better than relaxing from the holiday chaos with a glass of wine in hand? Wine Rack in Southport, Bridge water Wines in Leland, Coastal Wine Room in Ocean Isle Beach and The Fortunate Glass in Wilmington all offer a space to enjoy a glass of wine following a busy day of Christmas shopping. Stop in one of the area’s wine stores to purchase a bottle to take home! Speak with the knowledgeable staff about the perfect bottle to go with you Christmas dinner or pick up a couple bottles as Christmas gifts!
The most festive choice of all, a holiday cocktail! Coastal North Carolina specializes in serving their beverages with a view! Whether you choose a drink on the waterfrontat Wrightsville Beach or amidst the charming historic scenery of Downtown Southport, you’re sure to enjoy! The Oceanic sits right on Wrightsville Beach, and BlueWater Waterfront Grill, BridgeTender, Dockside and Fish House Grill offer views of the Intracoastal Waterway with large decks to relax on. Further South, Jinx Creek and the Isles in Ocean Isle Beach, Inlet View in Shallotte, Oyster Rock in Calabash and Provision Company in Southport all sit right alongside the water with a perfect backdrop for a sunset cocktail.
