The Wilmington area offers residents options for beach visits with your dog year-round. At Fort Fisher and Freeman Park, your furry friends are always welcome. Some beaches including Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach have designated hours when dogs are welcome during the summer. Other beaches such as Wrightsville Beach invite dogs during the off season (October –March). Whether your dog enjoys chasing a tennis ball, playing in the waves, accompanying you on walks, or simply napping beside you on your towel, you have plenty of options to include them in your days at the beach!Don’t forget to check for leash rules before going!

The Cape Fear coast is a great place to grab a cold beverage, with over 15 breweries in Wilmington alone. Take your dog along to hang out with you while you enjoy a nice cold beer or glass of wine.
