Best Things About Coastal Carolina with Meghan

Meghan Owen is a lifelong Carolinian, hailing from the small town of Farmville in Eastern NC. A former teacher, Meghan always knew she wanted her work to support the folks who choose to make North Carolina their home. She has found the answer to that calling in her work as the Sales Operations Manager with the Coastal Community Real Estate Group. “I handle any and all things that make the office run as smoothly as possible,” says Meghan, noting that this includes managing databases and inventory as well as assisting the agents and staff with anything they may need to do their jobs efficiently.

“My favorite part about my job is knowing that I’m part of an organization that helps make people’s dreams come true,” she says, “During my time with CCREG, my role has grown and evolved. The pride in helping people however I can has always been the same, though.  It’s an honor to contribute to that part of what we do.”

Coastal Carolina Feels Like Home

When Meghan originally came to Wilmington, it was to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from UNCW, but she got much more from her school experience: a home. “I absolutely fell in love with Wilmington,” she says, “It always felt like my place, where I belong.” She explains that the Wilmington and Leland areas feel like a bigger version of her hometown. Meghan especially appreciates how prevalent various arts and cultural events are in the region. “I love going to see shows at the Wilson Center and concerts at the new Live Oak Pavilion in downtown Wilmington. There are so many things to do and see in the area, and more events or sites are opening all the time.” As a self-described “big foodie” she also loves how many wonderful restaurants in the area showcase a variety of cuisines.

Working With CCREG is a Dream

Before joining the Coastal Community Real Estate Group (CCREG), Meghan had a successful career as an educator. With CCREG, though, she has found a sense of community and teamwork she describes as extremely rewarding. “Our agents have a wealth of knowledge about the area and surrounding communities due to their professional and personal experiences,” says Meghan, describing a team of professionals who have established lives and raised families in the region. She loves helping people find a home in the coastal Carolina region. “Many people find the relaxed, yet active, lifestyle offered by The Home Place of Southport and Brunswick Forest very attractive,” says Meghan, “With a plethora of amenities, a variety of ways to buy, many architectural styles, and gorgeous natural scenery, you can see why folks are drawn to these active adult communities.”

Words of Wisdom

Moving to a new home is a big decision. Meghan understands that this decision is all about finding the right fit. “The right house in the wrong neighborhood is still the wrong house,” she says. Meghan advises aspiring homeowners who are on the fence about moving to coastal North Carolina to spend some time getting to know the area themselves instead of relying on word-of-mouth or recommendations. “Come down, enjoy our Coastal Discovery Package,” she says, “Until you’ve truly spent some time in the area, immersing yourself in the culture of the communities you may be exploring, talking with current Property Owners, exploring the amenities, and getting to know the Leland/Wilmington area it’s hard to make a truly accurate decision.” Meghan emphasized the tremendous knowledge and experience that CCREG agents bring to the table, saying they are “so helpful and accommodating” and would “never steer anyone wrong.”
